Sessional Counselling Services
In the spring of 2006 Occupational Mental Health (OMH), will be launching a
peripatetic, OH driven, first line counselling service for businesses,
initially in Central London and the City.
You may already have an excellent Occupational Health (OH) capability,
either salaried or contracted in, but it is likely that if you do, your OH
staff spend a great deal of time with employees who exhibit mental rather
than (or as well as) physical problems. If you do not employ OH staff it is
likely that empathetic HR staff or Line Managers are fielding that role.
What OMH will be provisioning is... Access to a highly trained and
experienced senior occupational health advisor/counsellor, trained to triage
those employees who present with signs if stress, anxiety depression and a
whole host of work / home related psychological issues / problems - at
work.
First
line counselling in the workplace will be constructive and
focussed with the objective of ensuring that referred employees (or those
just calling in) obtain the best advise; and the organisation can initiate a
plan of action.
This service is not designed to replace EAP's but instead become a regular
on site facility for all levels of employment both the themselves and of course the
organisation. The objective, wherever possible is to help employees remain
in work or get them help to get back to normal working as fast as possible
The service is available in blocks of half or whole days per week, fortnight
or month with a minimum contract period of 6 months.
